Teriyaki Sauce

A sweet and savory Japanese sauce made from soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Known for its glossy finish and rich umami flavor.

1. Teriyaki Fried Rice

A bold, umami-packed twist on classic fried rice — super easy and ultra satisfying.

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably cold, day-old)

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 1/2 cup diced carrots

  • 1/2 cup frozen peas or corn

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1–2 tbsp neutral oil

  • 1/3 cup store-bought teriyaki sauce

  • Optional: protein like shrimp, tofu, or chicken

  • Scallions & sesame seeds for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok. Add onion and carrot, cook 2–3 minutes.

  2. Push veggies to one side, pour in beaten eggs, scramble until cooked through.

  3. Add rice and protein (if using), stir to combine. Let it get a bit crispy!

  4. Pour teriyaki sauce over everything and stir-fry until evenly coated and hot.

  5. Garnish and serve.

2. Teriyaki Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Fresh, flavorful, and fun to eat with your hands — perfect for weeknight dinners or appetizers.

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken or turkey

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/3 cup store-bought teriyaki sauce

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar or lime juice (optional, for brightness)

  • Butter lettuce leaves or romaine hearts

  • Toppings: shredded carrot, chopped peanuts, scallions, sesame seeds

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in oil until fragrant. Add ground meat, cook until browned.

  2. Stir in teriyaki sauce and cook 2–3 more minutes until thick and sticky. Add vinegar or lime if using.
